Modern Furniture and Finishings is a company that has been a few years in the making. After some major changes in our family's life, Andrew and his family had moved to Columbus, OH. As life continued to get settled, Andrew came across a college friend (Joel) who was building furniture in Chicago with his company--Modern Industrial Furniture (MIF) After a few phone calls, Andrew was on a plane to Chicago to learn from Joel and start a branch of MIF in Columbus in 2019.

In the past 5 years we've built hundreds of pieces of furniture--from conference tables, desks, and shelves--to more recently reception desks, retail displays and checkout counters. As this journey continues, Andrew felt it was time to start Modern Furniture and Finishings. We continue to grow and learn new techniques to build many new styles, yet continue to hold fast to the roots of I learned from Joel and those early years of Modern Industrial Furniture. That being said, we look forward to working, building, and creating furniture that will last for years to come. Andrew Reep

Founder / Builder / Designer

After building for Modern Industrial Furniture for 5 years, Andrew took what experience he gained in those years and started Modern Furniture and Finishing. From the first table to now, each project is unique and fun, and he's enjoyed the growth that has come over the years. He loves to take an idea from concept to reality, and the whole process in between.

Nathaniel Lawrence

Builder / Design

Nathaniel started building furniture with Andrew while finishing his degree in Industrial Design from Cedarville University. With his knowledge of design, attention to detail, and ability to take ideas and create something new--we appreciate all he brings to our team.

Arlo

Chief Supervisor

In between naps, barking at squirrels, and getting all the pets, Arlo has been supervising our work from the door to the wood shop for the past 2 years. He's always ready to bring us a toy to play with instead of woodworking!

Our Location

We are based out of Columbus, OH. We deliver pieces all over the state, and have crossed into Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and WV for some pieces. Typically if you are outside of about a 2 hr. zipcode, we discuss the option for pickup. Interior finishing projects have a closer to home zipcode. Either way, we're happy to discuss the project with you. If you are local and want to swing by the workshop or want to discuss the project at your location, we can arrange for that as well.
